These butterflies were
photographed in the first week of August of 2003 on the
beach of the Napo River at the Jaguar Lodge, which lies near Santa Rosa,
one and half hours downstream from Puerto Misahualli. That shows the
great diversity of those beautiful insects as all were
taken within a few meters, sucking the minerals up from the
sand and stones.
