The waterfalls of San Rafael in the higher Amazon region are the mightiest in the country. Water gathers in the Andes and combine to form the river Quijos, which eventually ends up in the river Napo and then in the Amazon, finding its way into the Atlantic ocean. This waterfall is located close to the active volcano of El Reventador, giving it a further attraction to visit.
