Pañacocha means Lake of the Pirañas
in Quechua, language spoken by
the native people living in this Amazon region. But apart from those feisty fish, many more can
be found with some huge catfish as well.
The lake is also visited by river dolphins, which feast on
the present abundance of fish, their main diet.
