Salasaca is a small community near Ambato on the way to Baños and has a very interesting market open on all days. Many consider it the best for any textiles, like alpaca and other wool sweaters or wall carpets.
This indigenous group is originally from Bolivia but was transplanted by  the Incas to the present Ecuadorian location some 550 years ago.
