dangerous to climb as its increased
volcanic activity has
unpredictable eruptions as a consequence.
You do not want to
be caught on the volcano when major explosions
of gases, ashes and lava occur.
In 1873 two German geologists,
Alfons Stübel and Wilhelm
Reiss ascended
for the first time to the top to study its volcanism.
