Ceiba trees are found in the tropical regions of the country. In the rainforest of the Amazon, they represent the tallest trees with over 40m of height. Another specie is very common in the dry tropical forest of the coastal parts. There they also stand tall and with their fat and green trunks they are easily recognized. In the dry season their fruits open up and a woolly substance falls down which is used by the people to stuff pillows and blankets.
